Apotek 1 is Norway's strongest brand name pharmacy. When people were asked if they could name a pharmacy chain, 81,1 percent answered 'Apotek 1' (in 2008).

Apotek 1 is owned by Apokjeden AS that also owns the medicine wholesaler Apokjeden Distribusjon, the Finnish medicine wholesaler Tamro owns Apokjeden AS.
